WhAT IS {POST}MODERN MADE OF?

{POST}MODERN caddies are made of recycled corrugated boxes. After you’re done with all those shipping boxes, moving boxes, pizza boxes – we grind them up and turn them into something you can make use of one more time.

IS {POST}MODERN SAFE FOR MY HOME GARDEN?

Yes, by all means. We’re gardeners and created this product for our backyards, and have used it successfully in our own compost bins and gardens. Like any compostable, the rate of composting depends on what’s in your bin, the environment and the techniques you use.

IS {POST}MODERN accepted in my municipal curbside compost container?

Each locality is different, but {POST}MODERN was designed to be accepted in one of the nation’s best known municipal composting facilities. In practice, it’s just like other food soiled paper and cardboard products accepted there and in many other curbside programs.

HOW LONG DOES A CADDY LAST?

For a family of 4, we’ve found they last about 7-10 days. To extend the caddies’ lifespan, many people empty and reuse them. Very wet materials will shorten the lifespan. We recommend throwing your caddy in the compost once the lid seal becomes warped (at that point it may not contain odors as well, or keep out fruit flies).

CAN I PUT HOT LIQUIDS, GREASE AND COOKING OIL IN MY CADDY?

Please don’t. Very hot liquids, grease or cooking oil may melt through the pulp walls, and grease is counterproductive to municipal and home composting. Coffee grounds and tea bags are just fine.

Will the under-sink hanger and caddy fit in my cabinet?

{POST}MODERN is designed to fit inside standard 30”+wide sink-base cabinets with standard-depth sinks (about 75% of US homes and apartments). If your sink is extra-deep, or your cabinets are custom or very old, your cabinet door may not close when a {POST}MODERN hanger and caddy are attached. In either case, you can still use a caddy on your countertop, or hang it conveniently on the outside of your cabinet door. Please refer to the chart below and confirm sizing before you order.

Cabinets need to be at least 30" wide, with the top the door at least 8" from the underside of your countertop.
